NEW WORK: FULL ALBUM DESIGN FOR AKROASIS “ILION”
MAYTE CG HAS CREATED ALL THE ALBUM DESIGN FOR THE ALBUM
Our designer Mayte CG has designed the full album design for “Ilion”. Ilion is the debut full-lenght album by Akroasis, a metal band from Switzerland. We just updated our portfolio with all the artwork pieces created for it You can see it in more detail in Mayte CG’s portfolio.
ILION, A CONCEPT ALBUM ABOUT THE ILIAD AND THE ODYSSEY
“Ilion” is a concept album about the events surrounding the Trojan War and the return to home of Odysseus. Therefore that was also the background when it came to raising the album art and creating the illustrations. The moment of Ulysses’ journey chosen for the front artwork was the passage through the Strait of Messina and the encounter with the fearsome creatures Scylla and Charybdis. It was decided to make a panoramic illustration that would cover both the front and back and that would feature one of the two creatures on each side.

THE JOURNEY IS NOT OVER YET
Akroasis just signed with Doc Gator Records and the album will be released by the label this year so stay tuned to the band’s website or their facebook to find out all the news.
