Mayte CG has added a new job to her portfolio. It is a lyric video for the Swiss metal band Akroasis. Mayte CG had already worked with the band doing all the artwork and layout for their debut album “Ilion”. On this occasion, she has worked on a new design: creating an animated lyric video for one of the songs on the album: Scylla and Charybdis.

“Scylla and Charybdis”, THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE COVER ART
The song talks about the moment of the Odyssey in which Odysseus must make a difficult decision that will mark his destiny when crossing the Strait of Messina. Two terrible and immortal creatures live in the strait: Scylla, formerly a beautiful nymph who was transformed into a monster by a potion made by the jealous Circe; And Charybdis, an even more mysterious creature that swallows huge amounts of water three times a day and gives it back as many times, thus taking the form of a whirlpool that devours everything in its reach. Ulysses must decide which of the evils he prefers to face and what sacrifices he is willing to make.
